Major Activities Undertaken by Siamsinpawlpi

  • Career guidance seminars and workshops are organized by the Organization annually sponsored by government agencies and well-wishers. They are important activities spearheaded by the Education Department. Resource persons for the seminars and workshops are mobilized among intellectual circle as well as within the community and are often without remittance.

  • Various free coaching classes and camps are conducted from time to time for the welfare of the student community who are in active pursuit of their education and career. JNV Class VI Entrance Coaching, Class X Coaching for Board Exams and MPSC Coaching Class are some of the free coaching classes organized.

  • Annual Conference is a regular event of the Organization. Annual conferences are conducted at the Joint Headquarters, Branch and Block levels.

  • Publication of Annual Magazine: The Organization publishes an annual magazine which highlights annual activities of the Organization. It is an initiative for promoting literature, preserving and transmitting socio-cultural values and creating a space for discourse on social issues.
  • Intermediary for students-parents-teachers: The Organization plays an important role in restoring government schools which have failed and defunct in rural and remote areas. It acts as the intermediary bringing together various stakeholders into a single platform to revitalize educational institutions. The institutions which are taken up for revitalization so far includes: Bukpi Govt. High School, Bukpi Primary School, Sinzawl Govt. Junior High school, Songtal Govt. High School, Tualkhothang Govt. High School (Mualnuam), Kaikhoen Govt. High School (Suangdoh) since 2006.
     
  • Education Awareness Campaign: The Organization regularly endeavours to create educational awareness especially in remote areas. The initiative is carried out through campaign programmes using audio visual show to maximize its impact.
  • The Organization facilitates in organizing civil services aspirants into study groups in metro cities and state capitals.

  • Cooperate and support other student organizations at district, state, regional and national level on issue based, particularly on students’ welfare and concerns.

  • The 2nd Saturday of October is observed as SSPP Flag Day each year since 2008 where SSPP Flags are vended in public. The proceedings of this venture are passed on to the Foundation Trust. The Flag Day also involves a formal function at the GHQ.

  • Development Index Survey (Census Method) which seeks to assess the socio-economic condition among the Paite community is initiated at each unit level. It is a research project spearheaded by the Planning and Development Department of SSPP GHQ.

  • Assist and cooperate with government agencies like Family Welfare Department in Immunization programmes and others where its services are required and are beneficial to the overall growth of the community.

  • The Organization sets up ‘Help Desk’ in schools and colleges for fresh students seeking new admissions in various universities. The Help Desk is attended by volunteer members who assist students seeking new enrolment in their admission procedures.
